Trust & Verification
Trust on UmayNow works on two levels: a public badge everyone can see, and a private score only you can see. They're related, but they're not the same thing, and it's worth understanding both.
The Verified badge
Being Verified is public. It shows up on your profile for anyone to see, and it's earned one of three ways, any one of which is enough on its own.
- Enough other people click "Verify" on your Trust tab.
- You and someone else both confirm a shared project together.
- You work at a company whose own email domain has been verified.
Once you're Verified, that's it, it doesn't expire and it doesn't get taken away later. Companies have their own version of this too, verified by confirming a code sent to their own email domain.
Your private trust score
This one is completely different. It lives on your Analytics tab, and no one else ever sees it, not your connections, not visitors, not anyone. It's a number with a plain tier attached (Basic, Verified, Trusted, or Champion), and it's built from real signals: peer verifications, recommendations, shared projects, and verified employment. There's also a small bonus if those signals come from people spread across different industries, rather than just from one tight circle of the same few people.
You'll never see a breakdown of exact points anywhere, and that's intentional. What matters for you is simply this: the more genuine trust you build, the more it quietly helps you get discovered, in feed ranking, in search, and in matching. It works in the background, and it's never something you need to chase or game.
Company trust
Companies have the same idea on their side, visible only to the owner and department leaders. It's built from real partnerships, verified employees, and having someone clearly in a leadership role. Being connected to an already trusted company gives a small lift. Long stretches of inactivity bring it down slowly, but never suddenly or harshly.
How you build trust
There's no shortcut, and there shouldn't be. Real work, connecting with real people, doing projects with them, being recommended by people who actually know your work, that's the whole mechanism. It's designed so that the only way to build it is to actually be someone worth trusting.
