Jobs & Business Opportunities
There are two different kinds of opportunities on UmayNow, and they work quite differently. Job Opportunities are for hiring an individual person. Business Opportunities are for companies looking to work together on something that isn't a hire.
Posting a Job Opportunity
When you post a role, you'll fill in a title, a description, the department it sits under, location, employment type, seniority, salary if you want to share it, the relevant industries, and the tools someone would need. Tools are worth understanding well, because they change how applicants get ranked. A tool marked Must Have is a real requirement. Anyone missing it always sorts to the very bottom of your applicant list, no matter how strong their overall match is otherwise. A tool marked Better Have is just a nice bonus. Missing it costs an applicant a few points, but it never rules them out.
How long a listing stays open
A job listing runs on a rolling thirty day cycle. If you don't close it or reopen it yourself, it closes on its own once that window passes. While it's open, you'll see a small countdown once it's getting close to that deadline. You can close or reopen a listing yourself at any time, and reopening starts the clock over.
Companies that reliably fill the roles they post build a better standing over time. Companies that keep a listing open for months without ever hiring anyone don't. We won't show you an exact number for this, it's a background reputation signal, not a scoreboard, but it's real and it does matter.
The Hiring badge
You'll see an orange Hiring badge on a person or company page once they have an open listing that has received at least one real applicant, and only if they chose to show it. It's a quick, honest signal that someone is actively looking, not a permanent label.
Applying and getting hired
When you apply to a job, you can attach a short note along with your application. On the company's side, applicants are ranked by how closely their profile actually matches what the listing is asking for, and that match is shown as a clear percentage, not hidden away. Once a company decides to hire someone, they pick a department for the new hire, the listing gets marked Fulfilled, and the company has the option to share the hire on the feed, mentioning both the company and the person who got the role.
Business Opportunities
A Business Opportunity is different from a job. It's a company advertising something it offers or needs that isn't a hire, a partnership, a service, sponsorship, and things like that. It also has a scope, either Global or a specific set of countries. Instead of applying, you express interest, and you can do that either as yourself or on behalf of your own company, since this kind of opportunity is usually a company to company matter in the first place.
Saving and browsing opportunities
You can save any listing you come across, job or business, and find everything you've saved together on your Saved page. The Opportunities page itself lets you browse and filter everything currently open, and each row explains plainly why it's a good match for you, rather than just handing you an unexplained score.
If you're looking for work
Turning on Ready to Work from your own profile puts a green ring on your avatar everywhere you appear, and it genuinely boosts how often you show up to hiring companies who are actively searching. It's worth turning on if you mean it, since it changes how much attention you get.
