Companies
A company profile on UmayNow is the structured identity of an organization on the network. It helps people understand what your company does, what it offers, what it needs, who works there, what it has built, and which opportunities it's open to. Company profiles are built for business discovery, not just as an online company page, everything you add creates context for discovering people, opportunities, partnerships, and potential business relationships.
Getting a company page
Every account can also run a company page. There's no separate signup for it, just visit your Company page and it's already there, ready for you to fill in. You're not limited to one either, you can own several companies and switch between acting as yourself and acting as any company you own from your account menu. While you're acting as a company, your Discover, Feed, and Opportunities pages all show things relevant to that company's profile instead of your own personal one, a full change of perspective, not just a label.
Overview
Overview is the main page of your company profile. It gives visitors a quick understanding of your company and brings together the information that best represents your organization: About, Timeline, We Offer, We Need, We Have, Partnerships, and Collaborations.
About
Explains what your company does and what it's building. Use it for a concise description of your company, its focus, and the type of work it's involved in.
Timeline
Lets your company highlight important milestones in its history, such as:
- Company founding
- Product launches
- Major releases
- Funding events
- Expansion
- Important partnerships
- Other significant developments
We Offer
Describes what your company can provide to other professionals or businesses. Each offer can be associated with a department and can also include a free-text description, the department gives structured context while the free text lets your company explain the offer in its own words. For example:
Offer: We provide Unreal Engine development and technical consulting for game studios.
We Need
Describes what your company is currently looking for. Each need can also be associated with a department and a free-text description, the department gives structured context about where the need sits within the organization, while the free text explains the specific requirement. For example:
Marketing Management
AI Consulting
We Need is not a replacement for hiring. A company doesn't add employees it's looking for to We Need, that's what the Hiring section under Opportunities is for.
We Have
Space to describe assets, resources, infrastructure, technology, or other things the company already has. It adds context about what exists within the organization beyond its offers and needs.
Partnerships and Collaborations
On Overview, these two sections summarize the business partnerships and collaborative work associated with your company, so visitors get a sense of the business ecosystem around it at a glance. The full versions of both live on the Collabs & Partners tab, covered below.
Structure
Someone joins your company by adding it to their own profile as a real employer and getting accepted by you. Once accepted, you can organize your team into departments, pick a real department name from the list when you can rather than typing your own, that's what keeps your org chart consistent and searchable instead of scattered under a dozen slightly different spellings. Departments can have designated leaders as well as employees assigned to them, for example a company might have departments like Engineering, Product, Marketing, Business Development, Art, or Finance. Structure gives visitors organizational context that a simple employee list can't.
Verification
Verifying a company today works by confirming a code sent to an address at your company's own email domain. Once verified, you get the Verified badge and the option to claim a custom URL for your page.
Collabs & Partners
This is how two companies formalize working together, whether it's a partnership or a collaboration. Either side can propose one to the other, and the other side accepts or declines it. Once accepted, both companies can tag their own departments and the specific people actually involved. When the relationship is marked complete, everyone who was tagged gets a matching project automatically added to their own profile, a real record of the work, not just a mention.
Collaborations
Shows collaborations involving the company. Collaborations can provide context about the types of projects and professional relationships the company participates in.
Partnerships
Shows business partnerships associated with the company. Partnerships can help visitors understand the company's existing business ecosystem.
Top Collaborators and Top Partnerships
These highlight the company's most significant collaborators and partnerships based on available activity. Together with the sections above, they show who the company actually works with, not just what the company says about itself.
Opportunities
This is where companies manage their active professional and business opportunities, and it's separate from We Need. We Need describes something the company is looking for in a broader business or professional context. Opportunities represent specific opportunities the company wants to make discoverable, and it includes:
Hiring
Where companies publish and manage open job opportunities. If a company is looking for an employee for a specific position, that position should be created as a Hiring opportunity rather than added to We Need.
Our Offers
The company's active opportunities to provide something to other professionals or businesses, specific services, business opportunities, partnerships, or other forms of professional value.
Our Needs
The company's active opportunity-level needs, specific needs the company wants to make discoverable through the Opportunities system.
Together, these turn a company's current business and hiring opportunities into discoverable items across UmayNow.
Activity
Shows content and activity associated with your company: posts published by the company and other relevant company activity. Company posts follow the same intent-based publishing model as personal posts (see The Feed). Every post type except Regular has a defined intent, a Need means the company is looking for something, an Offer means it has something to provide, Knowledge means it's sharing professional knowledge, an Update means it's communicating something that happened or changed, a Question means it's asking for information or perspectives, and Regular is a more standard post shared with the company's connected audience.
Analytics
The Analytics tab helps your company understand how it's being discovered and how visitors interact with its presence on UmayNow, turning discovery activity into useful information rather than vanity metrics. It's private to the company's owner and department leaders, visitors never see it.
Discovery Funnel
Shows how people move through different stages of discovering your company, helping you understand the relationship between search appearances, page views, and new followers.
Opportunity Performance
Shows how people interact with your company's opportunities, which ones receive views and saves, and which ones may need attention.
Trust Network Reach
Context about the professional network connected to your company's verified employees, illustrating how your company's verified professional presence extends across UmayNow.
Trust Score
A summary of the trust signals associated with your company: partnerships, verified employees, and having someone in a clear leadership role. Being connected to an already trusted company gives a small lift, and long stretches with no activity at all bring it down slowly. It's meant to provide context about the strength and reliability of your company's presence, not to measure popularity.
Partnership Health
Visibility into your company's current partnership and collaboration activity, including active partnerships, active collaborations, and pending proposals.
Visitor Insights
Where visitors come from, when your company gets viewed, who's visiting, which industries are visiting, and which types of opportunities are being viewed, so you understand who's discovering your company and what they're interested in.
Deleting a company
If you ever need to shut a company down for good, that option lives in Settings, under Danger Zone. You'll need to type the company's exact name to confirm, on purpose, since this can't be undone. Deleting a company removes everything it owns: its listings, its offers and needs, its partnerships, all of it. Anyone who still lists that company on their own profile keeps their own history, it just no longer points anywhere.
