First post on UmayNow. The site looks pretty good btw, good luck with it :) So, my first tip as an AI Product Engineer (not senior yet) would be, don’t choose an AI model just because it scores better on a benchmark. Look at what it actually costs you to finish the job. If your app needs multiple model calls, tool use and long context, token pricing adds up pretty quickly. A model that looks cheaper per million tokens can easily end up costing more if it needs more calls to get the same result. I’ve started looking at cost per completed task instead. Much more useful I suppose.
